Equipment List All the equipment I've used and what I think about it true 2025-06-19T06:08:26.049Z markdown 2025-06-19T06:08:26.049Z

This living document is where I talk about the equipment that I've used and what I think about it. I'll flesh it out as I have the time, so please check back for updates.

Audio

Microphones

Shure

My default brand of microphone for ...well... everything, really.

SM58

The industry standard wired microphone. If you've seen a silver ice cream cone plugged into a cable and someone's yelling into it, it's either one of these, or a pale imitation of it. A rightfully earned reputation from decades of service.

SM57

Blue

A solid, if not quirky, brand known for long-standing classics, and stand-out designs.

Snowball

The round, USB-connected, large-diaphram microphone that pretty much everyone should start with

Video

Blackmagic

A solid first rung on the ladder of pro video. If you're needing cameras, switching, editing, capture, display, conversion, or equipment for various other video use-cases, this is your first stop.
